A Walking lecture (approx.45-60mins) will precede all services weather permitting in order to answer all of your questions regarding the history and general information regarding geisha culture so that you can fully enjoy the entertainment.
Private Afternoon Tea with a Maiko (not a tea ceremony)
A private walk through the geisha districts (approx. 45-60 mins.) followed by afternoon matcha (green tea) with traditional sweets. (Bilingual J<>E interpreting included)
The entertainment takes place in a private, members only ochaya (geisha teahouse) *no other customers present*
There will be a traditional song, dance and games, and great photo opportunities, as well as a chance to ask any questions you might have about life in the geisha world. It is a unique opportunity to have a glimpse inside the mysterious world of the geisha and experience it like a local customer.

Teahouse Experience-Drinks with a maiko/geiko
A walking lecture (approx.45 min.- 1 hour) will brief you on the history and educate you on the etiquette and traditions of geisha culture beforehand to ensure that your time with the entertainer will be spent enjoying the entertainment without taking up precious time bombarding her with questions he can answer.
The evening will begin with a walk lead by Peter MacIntosh, lasting approximately 1 hour that will take you through streets lined with old wooden houses and hidden alleyways in Kyoto’s world-renowned geisha districts. While answering your questions, Peter will give you an insider’s view into the past, present and future of this unique and exotic world.
Following the walk, you will have snacks and drinks with an hour of maiko or geiko entertainment consisting of jovial conversation and dance to prerecorded music. You will also have a chance to ask questions about the geisha and their world (translated into English by Peter MacIntosh. This is a special night of drinks, traditional entertainment, and great photo opportunities. So don’t forget to bring your camera.

All images taken during the entertainment should be for personal use and are not to be sold or used professionally in any way. Dinner with Geisha & Ozashiki Asobi
Walking lecture followed by approximately two and a half hours of live entertainment with maiko and geiko, kaiseki dinner and drinks
You will begin with a walk lead by Peter MacIntosh lasting approximately 45 mins-1 hour that will take you through streets lined with old wooden houses and hidden alleyways in Kyoto’s world-renowned geisha districts. While answering your questions, Peter will give you an insider’s view into the past, present and future of this unique and exotic world.
Following the walk, you will have traditional dinner and drinks with two hours of maiko and geiko entertainment consisting of song and dance to the accompaniment of the shamisen, jovial conversation and traditional (drinking) games. You will also have a chance to ask questions about the geisha and their world (translated into English by Peter MacIntosh). This is a special night of food, drink, traditional entertainment, and great photo opportunities. So don’t forget to bring your camera.

120,000 yen (approx. $1,200 U.S.) for 1 person.
150,000 yen (approx. $1,500 U.S.) per group up to 4 persons.

Note: All fees are to be paid in cash (Japanese yen) before the evening begins. A 50% cash deposit (by bank transfer) or credit card number may be required.
*If you have any special dietary needs i.e.: religious or medical, please inform us as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you.
-Transportation to and from your hotel/ryokan is not included in the total cost of the evening.
